Trick or Treat 2009

Our little Frog

Hiding behind Daddy

Getting brave with Daddy's help

Grandma loves the spiders on this house!!

Tyler has been waiting weeks to go Trick or Treating..... and the day finally came and he decided he was scared! We walked around 2 blocks and he would not go up to any homes! He didn't care if they were giving out candy!
Finally he walked up to a house with Daddy and hide behind him! The ladies were very sweet to Tyler and that did help Tyler get over his shyness. He found out it was fun going Trick or Treating, so we walked around another block and Tyler used his good manners at each house and had a good time. Now let's see who eats all the candy.

School Halloween Party

Singing Spooky Halloween Songs

Tyler really singing the songs and doing the motions!

Snack Time

Today was Tyler's PreSchool Halloween Party. They were not allowed to dress in costume just in case the kids might get scared. But they had a fun time anyway. They sung Halloween songs and did the motions to them. Everyone laughed so it must have been fun for them.
Of course eating their snack was their favorite time. They all seemed to enjoy that.
I got to attend because I am the Room Grandma! And everyone calls me "Tyler's Grandma", it was so cute to hear them call me that. I got alot of hugs after the party was over from all the kids! It was a fun time watching them have a good time.

Pumpkin Carving

Tyler not thrilled to get his hands dirty!

Tyler concentrating on Mommy's cutting technique

Helping Daddy do the clean up carving after Mommy

all "4" of them saying "CHEESE"

The candle is lit and Tyler is happy with his Jack-o-Lantern

Tyler put his hands to the test in assisting Mommy and Daddy on carving their first pumpkin. Tyler helped Daddy clean out the inside (well, he did touch it, but only once!) I am sure you can hear him yelling "ucky" once he put his hand on the inside! Daddy had to finish the rest.
Mommy was creative with using the shapes Tyler is learning in school. She used diamonds for eyes,a triangle for his nose and squares for his teeth. Tyler was so excited!
Daddy had to clean up the carving once Mommy finished.
They were all proud of the jack-o-lantern and Tyler lead them in saying "CHEESE" while Grandma took thier picture.

PreSchool Field Trip

Jillian, Mrs. Caldwell (the teacher), Harrison, Chase and Tyler

Tyler liked reaching for the apples!

Twisting an apple off the branch

Taking time out from picking to enjoy a fresh picked apple

Today Tyler's PreSchool took their first field trip. They went to Lynd's Fruit Farm in Pataskala to learn about apples. They learned how the tree grows, how ladybugs help the trees, and how apples grow on the trees. The guide ask the children what animal could eat an apple right off of the tree. Tyler was the first and only child to have an answer. He said a hippopotamus.... not sure why that animal came to his head. It was not the correct answer, but they praised him anyway.
They were also given a bag to pick apples to take home. The guide told them to reach their arms up high in the air, take a hold of the apple, then twist. You should have heard all the children saying the steps while picking the apples. They all had a good time despite the cold windy day we had! ... it was 40 degrees plus very heavy winds! We were all glad to go back to school!

Pumpkin Patch

Placing Farmer Joe in our front yard

Mommy and Tyler deciding on some pumpkins

Tyler and Grandma enjoying the tractor up close

Stuffing Farmer Joe's pants with straw

Tyler is learning this year what Fall/Autumn is really like. He has noticed the leaves on the trees has changed colors. He will say, "where the green ones go"? He also notices all the dried leaves on the ground; which he enjoys stepping on and rolling around in. He has learned what wearing a sweatshirt or jacket everyday is like! I say, "Welcome to Ohio Tyler"!
On Sunday, Mommy, Daddy, Tyler and Grandma when to Freeman's Farm, in Galena to enjoy a Halloween Festival. Tyler tried his hand at feed the baby goats and calves. He enjoyed climbing on the piles of pumpkins. But riding on a hay wagon (which Brent said was really straw not hay) that was being pulled by a tractor made the day for Tyler. He was so excited to see all the tractors pulling the wagons. We all got to ride with the red one! He loved watching the wheels slide in the mud.
One of the family activities they had was making your own scarecrow! Grandma thought that would be fun. We all helped! Tyler too! He loved stuffing the pants with straw and picking out the hat! The scarecrow was given a Birth Certificate, so we had to name it. Tyler calls him "Farmer Joe" after one of his favorite DVDs! It was a beautiful fall day to spend with the family outdoors.

Cutting Together

Tyler and Mommy stopping to say "cheese" for the camera

Cutting with Mommy

It's October and looks our grass cutting season is almost over. Tyler still enjoys cutting the grass! I only wish his bubble lawn mower really cut! He walks the yard just like Mommy does.... up and down in a straight line. We just all hope he still enjoys mowing when he becomes of age to use the real one!
