Holiday Fun

Looking at puzzles with Aunt Mary

Fun at the Alligator Farm Reading

Reading a new "truck" book

Playing in snow when it's 80 degrees outside

Tyler is 2 1/2 years old and still doesn't really understand what Christmas is all about, but he did enjoy the holiday. He never bothered the tree nor presents until we told him he could open them. He would have nothing to do with the mall Santa Claus! But he was happy to have his Uncle Zach, Great Aunt Mary. and Great Uncle Mike here for Christmas!

Tyler enjoyed all his gifts. He went from one gift to another; just playing and enjoying all of them. He had a lot of exploring to do. Angie's boss gave him a box of 'snow' which we all had fun with in a snowball fight!

On the day after Christmas we went to the Alligator Farm to enjoy one of Florida's warm 80 degree days! Tyler liked looking at all the alligators, crocodiles, wild birds and turtles. He particularly like feeding the alligators. Tyler is quite the entertainer to his guest.

Thomas the Tank Engine

Uncle Mike S. and Tyler exploring the tracks

Explaining what happened!

Tyler saying, "uh-oh!!"

At Papa and MeMa's house also had a train set waiting for Tyler on Christmas morning. This time it was a Thomas the Tank Engine. Papa and Uncle Zach spent Christmas Eve putting together the train table. Once they were finished Uncle Mike S. took over by putting together the train track. Uncle Mike was proud of all his hard work of putting many types of track on the table. He had a spiral track, bridges, tunnels, straight roads, and curvy roads. Aunt Mary and MeMa tried to be his engineers. It was a work of art.
Tyler was so happy to see his train set and all the cars on it. He went right to playing and making his train noise.... "choo choo"! We didn't see nor hear from him for a few hours. Then we heard a crash and Tyler saying "uh-oh". He came running to tell us all about the accident! It was quite a story; but we could only make out some of his words!Uncle Mike made another track but this time much much simpler! Tyler definitely had a Train Christmas!

Special Santa Ray

Can't you hear him saying "choo-choo"?

Playing with the wooden train

Tyler had a wonderful Christmas. Once he opened all his gifts at his house, he had a special surprise from his Special Santa Claus. A man, named Ray, that we met at the Shrine Arts & Craft Show gave Tyler one of his handmade wooden trains. It is absolutely gorgeous. Tyler was excited to say the least when he opened it up. He couldn't get it out of the box and put it together fast enough. This train will give Tyler hours and hours of playing enjoyment. Now to keep it UP so that it doesn't give Tucker hours and hours of chewing enjoyment will be the challenge.
Merry Christmas to all!

Christmas Cookies

Painting Christmas cookies

Enjoying a Christmas Sugar Cookie

Tyler has taken to one of the "Kerr Family Traditions" quite well. I have always baked cut-out sugar cookies at Christmas time. And Angie and Zach have always helped me ice and decorate them. This year I ask Tyler if he would like to ice cookies. He said "okay" and he lined up his cars on the table next to him and he started icing. Of course Tyler said " No ice. Painting". So he "painted" his cookies with the icing. I was afraid he would want to lick the icing off his fingers, but he didn't he just used his t-shirt to get them clean. After he finished painting the cookies, he sat back and started eating them. He did a very neat job! I was quite impressed with his neatness, the amount of colors he used, how he covered the whole cookie and with alot of patience. I think he may have a lot of creative ability.

Happy Early Christmas!

Checking it all out!

Video of Tyler with new fire fruck

Tyler woke up to a very pleasant surprise this morning, an early Christmas gift on our front porch! Being the parents that always gave our gifts early to each other, we let Tyler open this one early too. Boy were we glad, as Tyler was occupied with his new Fire Fruck all day! Tyler's Great Uncle Mike, Great Aunt Sue, and his cousins Sarah and Jessie sent him his new toy. Within the first 15 minutes, Tyler, with a little of daddy's help, figured out how to work the sirens, lights, ladder, and open the door for the fireman to drive the truck. He was a tired little boy by the end of night, because the fire fruck kept him busy! As Uncle Mike says, "Happy Frucking!"

Tyler & Tucker Relaxing Together

There is never a doubt as to who Tyler's best friend is; Tucker. He absolutely loves that dog! He can be very bossy, but Tucker does as he is told! Where you find one, you will definitely find the other. Over the weekend, Tucker was relaxing on the floor and looking out the window. Tyler must have thought he looked lonely, because he went and laid down with him while he watched his morning cartoons. We couldn't have asked for a better a dog for Tyler!

a Sleepover

Showing me a Noman -aka- Snowman on my tree
Tyler and Papa eating breakfast together.
Tyler and Papa grocery shopping
Tyler explaining .... " this is Tommy" -aka- Thomas the Tank Engine
Tyler always enjoys a sleepover with us. We have a lot of fun together; and yes, he is the boss. Papa drove us around Saturday night to look at Christmas lights. Tyler particularly liked the houses that had lit up signs in their yard. Signs that said things like "Merry Christmas" or "Noel" because he loves to recognize his alphabet. Of course, he only likes to say letters B U and K and if you notice there isn't any of those letters in these words. Tyler really doesn't care!

We also went to the grocery store. That is a favorite place for Tyler. He enjoys riding in the big green car. But the highlight is going to the bakery and getting a FREE cookie! Tyler does always use his good manners by saying "please" and "thank you" to the bakers.

Sunday morning Tyler wanted Papa to sit with him on the "chair" to eat their breakfast together. They watched Curious George and of course, Tyler explained to Papa what was happening to George. Papa gets a little confused on this type of show.

Tyler has developed a huge love for Thomas the Tank Engines. He knows several by name. He is hoping he has been a good enough boy this year so Santa will bring him a train set. He calls Thomas, Tommy.
If anyone doesn't know, I enjoy collecting and decorating with Snowmen. Tyler loves to go around our house showing me all the snowmen. He really likes to touch the snowman ornaments on the Christmas Tree and he tells me, "There's one! A noman!" He is way to cute!

Tyler Drying his Hair

Tyler absolutely loves to help me when I get ready. But instead of helping me like he normally does, he is starting to copy what I do and get ready himself. Before he starts to get himself ready, he pushes EVERYTHING out of my cabinet to find the right items he needs. Today, he needed to dry his hair. I had to plug the hair dryer in and turn it on for him. He even thought he needed the diffuser, can't you see his curly hair?! I wonder what he will want to use tomorrow!

Video of a Neigh

A video tape is worth a thousand words. Zach taped this clip over the weekend and he thought it was so funny, which you can tell from his laughter! Angie does make a good horse, or a "neigh" as Tyler calls them.

Play Date with J.T.

J.T. and Tyler having fun on the train tracks
MeMa and Tyler riding the train
Today Tyler had a play date with his friend, J.T., who he knows from his Gymboree class. We met J.T. and his mom, Cheri, at the Regency Square Mall in the play area. It represents the downtown Jacksonville area. They enjoyed driving the boat around the St. John's River, climbing inside the lighthouse, climbing on dolphins, running and sliding on the roads. But mostly I believe they enjoyed squeaking very loudly to hear their voices echo in the tall building! They do have fun together.
Afterwards, we all rode the train inside the mall.
After we got home, Tyler was ready for a good long nap! He ask "Go Night Night"!

Daddy Zach's Visit

Daddy Zach remembering the fun he used to have with Matchbox Cars!

Tyler entertaining Daddy Zach in his bedroom

Daddy Zach taking Tyler for a horseback ride

Tyler putting Daddy Zach to Night Night in his big boy bed

Tyler and Papa playing blocks

Yes, Uncle Zach now has a new name! Tyler started calling him Daddy Zach over the weekend.
Tyler had alot of fun with Zach. He kept Zach quite busy. Zach was amazed at how busy Tyler kept. In his bedroom, he played with one thing then another. He might want to read, play cars, a race set, work with tools, build with his blocks, etc. And he kept the door shut so Daddy Zach couldn't escape! He even put Zach down for Night Night and got a horseback ride off of him!
By the end of the weekend, Zach was really starting to understand Tyler's language quite well. We all enjoy our time with Zach whenever he comes!!

Thanksgiving Day

Tyler explaining Curious George to Papa

Tyler dressed up for Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Day is day to be thankful. And I beleive we will all be thankful when Tyler is a little older and knows what looks good together and what doesn't. Take a close look at his outfit; he picked it out all by himself and thought he looked very handsome in his 2 long sleeved shirts that didn't match. And might I add, it is still short sleeve weather in Jacksonville, Florida.
Tyler tried to kill time watching TV with Papa while he waited for Uncle Zach to arrive. He had lots of things planned for them to play together.

Mommy, The New Toy Box

While I was resting nicely on the couch, Tyler thought I looked lonely. So, he decided to lay all of his toys around me, just in case I wanted to play. He couldn't give me his small toys, he had to give me all of the big cars that he has! Once he stacked them all around me, he decided he was tired and wanted to watch television with me. So, he sat on the couch with me and all his toys!
