Play Doh

Today Tyler had another first. MeMa introduced him to Play Doh. The first thing he did after he touched it was smell it. He liked the smell. Then he tasted it and said "Yuck" immediately. So I don't think we will have to worry about him wanting to eat it. At first all he wanted to do was take the cookie cutters and rolling pin and stack them on top each other. But once he figured out what the Play Doh could do, he was ready for the adventure. He spent the next hour and half making balls and snakes and pancakes. I do think he enjoyed placing the items we made in and out of the jar the most. I believe he will be a very neat and organized person. For his first day with Play Doh he did very good! I see hours of enjoyment we will have together with the Play Doh.

Another Day at the Beach

Even though Daddy is in Ohio for a wedding, it didn't stop Tyler from having fun. He had another great bonding experience with Mommy, Papa and MeMa. It was a beautiful day, so we decided to go to the beach. On the drive, every time Papa took off his hat, Tyler would yell at him, "Hat On Papa". So of course, Papa put his hat back on. It was so funny because Papa doesn't like to drive with his hat on, but he did wear it driving today! We know who rules this family .... a 2 year old!

We have a number of beaches to play in close to Jacksonville. Today we went to St. Augustine Beach. The sun was hot, the water was cold, and Tyler had a great time playing with his new "fruck" in the sand and water. He was one tired little boy when we left the beach.

A Younger Woman

Some like them young and some like them old ...... Tyler just likes "girls". MeMa planned a Play Date with one of her Grandma friends. We met at The Avenue's Mall inside playground. Tyler had fun running around and being very loud. Alex, who just turned one years old, has just started to walk, so she would walk then fall, walk then fall, so cute! Tyler did play hide -n-seek with her in the little house and also tried to read her a book. I am sure we will have many more fun times with Alex.

Helping Mommy

Tyler is the best helper I could ever ask for. After he helped daddy clean the cars, he helped mommy clean the floors. It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it! He would take turns, cleaning the floors and playing with his tractor. He just couldn't decide which was more fun! He also helped dress himself into dry clothes after cleaning the cars. As you can see, he insisted on wearing his belt. We tried to tell him he didn't need to wear one with his gym shorts, but you see who won!

Washing the Cars

Over the weekend, Mommy and Daddy took Tyler to a beach where you are able to drive on it. Tyler thought it was really neat to be that close to the water and be in a car at the same time! When we got home, Daddy needed to wash the Jeep to get the sand off. Tyler loved helping him. He would not let Daddy have the hose to rinse off the cars, he wanted to do it himself, which meant we all got a little wet. After we were about finished we thought about putting on his bathing suit, but it was a little too late! He did stay dry through the first car, but not the second. There is just something about washing the car that makes you want to get wet too, especially in the 90 degree weather!

"Cars"

Tyler was very excited on Friday when we received a package from his 3rd cousins, Wanda and Richard. They found little miniature "Cars" that you can eject from a shoot. He was most excited to see "McQueen", as MeMa was to see Mater. Once he calmed down, it took him no time at all to figure out how to load and push the button to make them go. Thank you Wanda and Richard for putting a big smile on this little guys face. These cars will provide him with a lot of fun!

Frogs

Tyler is a typical curious little boy! Today he spent some time trying to catch lizard's -aka- gecko's and had no luck. He touched them but wasn't quick enough to catch them. MeMa was happy about that. Since he was not successful with the lizards he moved on to little frogs. He found this cute (?) little frog that was green and about the size of a nickel. He did everything he could to catch it in his plastic bowl. Perhaps he will have better luck at his house and then he can have a pet in his bedroom.

Holly's Wedding Celebration

This past weekend we drove to North Carolina to help our cousin Holly celebrate her special wedding day. Tyler was very excited to see his mommy's family again. He hasn't seen them since we moved last summer.
Saturday started off great for Tyler. He was thrilled to wheel his own suitcase through the hotel. You can see the excitement in his face. When the bellboy tried to take it downstairs for him, Tyler had a fit. He wanted to do it himself, he is so independent!
Once we got to the wedding, Tyler showed us all how to get down! We could not get him off the dance floor! At first, all he did was move his head. Then the music moved through his body. He also got dance lessons from cousin Hunter. Tyler thought Hunter was so fun, he would not leave his side.
By the end of the wedding, Tyler was exhausted. (He also had not had his afternoon nap!) He decided he would rest his head while he danced with Papa and MeMa. It's a tough job to entertain everyone!
Tyler enjoyed seeing the family again. He hopes that he doesn't have to wait a whole year to see everyone again.

Lake Gaston Visit

Tyler took a 9 1/2 hour Road Trip to North Carolina with Mommy, Papa and MeMa this past weekend. He had a lot of fun. We spent Saturday night at one of MeMa's favorite places. That place is Great Uncle Scott and Great Aunt Kathy's lake house on Lake Gaston. MeMa has many fond memories of "family bonding" times. When Tyler gets older, she will share them with him.

Tyler started his own memories when Uncle Scott took him to the garage full of Big Boy Toys! Uncle Scott took him on his first 4x4 ride. He was scared at first, then he got hooked on the fun. Aunt Kathy read Tyler's favorite book of "tractors and frucks" with him. MeMa pretended to take him on a boat ride. Tyler enjoyed pushing all the buttons! And Uncle Dave went on a walk when Tyler would take his finger and say "Go". What more fun could a little boy ask for! Perhaps Aunt Linda will get in a picture next visit with Tyler.

Fla-Vor-Ice

After Tyler helped MeMa trim shrubs today we came inside and we were both hot and sweaty. He immediately said he wanted "cream" (AKA - ice cream). Papa thought this was the perfect time to teach Tyler how to eat another of his favorite types of ice cream. It is the frozen Fla-Vor-Ice. So in the first picture, Tyler is having his first lesson on how to eat a Fla-Vor-Ice Papa's way. After he ate that, he still wanted some vanilla "cream". He is a pro at feeding himself that. (note his arms in the air - is him flapping his "wings" with excitement)

Tyler's 2 Year Old Pictures

We had Tyler's 2 year old pictures taken recently. It is hard to believe that he is two already. It seems like only yesterday he was an infant. He is growing too fast for his mommy and daddy.
Tyler loves wearing hats. He typically does not leave the house without one on. So, we decided to have him take his picture with his favorite hat. It is slightly too big for him. He pushes it down on his head and it makes his ears flop out! But there is no making him wear it different.
Brent and I look forward to the many more years watching Tyler grow into a young man!

Brent's New Car

Over the weekend, we purchased a new Jeep Wrangler for Brent. Happy Anniversary Brent! It is Brent's new pride and joy. We enjoyed riding to the beach Saturday evening with the top off. My hair was a little wind blown, but we were enjoying the fresh air! Tyler hasn't been able to ride in the Jeep yet, but he sure does love to pretend that he is driving. In no time at all, he will be driving us around town.

Fun with Papa & MeMa

Today is June 7 and it's Mommy and Daddy's 5th wedding anniversary. To give them some fun time alone, Tyler got to spend the afternoon and a sleepover with MeMa and Papa. We know how much Tyler loves the beach, so that's where we went. He had a great time playing in the water, digging in the sand, and chasing a dog down the beach. Tyler would take Papa by the hand and say "water" and off they would go into the ocean. They got hit by some big waves, but Tyler just laughed and wiped his eyes. I am so glad he is not afraid of the water. Tyler mostly stayed busy carrying water from the ocean to this little water hole he and Papa enjoyed playing in. With all the running he was doing I know he will sleep good tonight.

Sad Day for MeMa

Today has been a very sad day for MeMa. I have decided to let Chloe go to a new home. I got her when she was only 6 weeks old and now she is 13 weeks. She is the cutest little girl, with a sweet, energetic, playful personality. And since she is so playful that means she loves to play with Tyler and jump on Tyler and play with Tyler's toys. If you all know our little Tyler, he is on the loud side with a very sharp scream. And every time Chloe would play with, jump on, or play with Tyler's toys, he would scream or yell very loudly. Which means Monday-Friday for 10 hours, it is not a pretty picture at MeMa's house.

I found it impossible to stand over them all day to protect Tyler when Chloe would jump on him, chew on him, take his food, or pull his shorts down. And my ears are a little tired from all the yelling and screaming since my protection wasn't available all the time.

One of them had to go, so it was Chloe. My Tyler has to come first. She left this evening to an excellent home so even though I am sad, I know she will be a happy puppy.

Memorial Day Visit to Atlanta

Tyler was able to spend Memorial weekend with the Kerr family at Uncle Zach's house. Grandma, papa, daddy and mommy drove up to Atlanta Friday afternoon. Tyler surprisingly, did a wonderful job in the car. He watched Curious George and Cars all the way there! He now prefers to watch Curious George over Cars. At least there are different episodes to watch!

Tyler enjoyed the bonding time at Uncle Zach's. From reading books, swimming, to being tossed in the air, he had a great time. (I will attach more pictures soon.) In the picture above, Tyler and Uncle Zach were learning the different types of tractors and "frucks", aka trucks. Tyler can't wait to spend time with family!

Family Fun

Which one of the 3 guys look like they were going to have the most fun? They all ended up having a fun time at the beach. The weather was great in the high 90's today. The waves were higher than normal, so Tyler was a little intimidated by them. When they went into the water, he took turns letting Papa and Daddy hold him. He does enjoy the water.

Tyler is not usually good at sharing his toys, but today he let Papa help him play in the sand. He didn't seem to mind Papa using his shovels or bucket. I think he was very excited to have Papa go to the beach with him.
