Trick-or-Treat 2011

The Lone Ranger
Baby Hulk

Put 'em up Mason!

Papa holding Mason while Mason eats a Tootsie Roll

We had Trick-or-Treat tonight and I brought with me The Lone Ranger and Baby Hulk. Tyler was going to be Captain America, which is why Mason was Baby Hulk; they were going to be my Avengers. But Tyler decided he wanted to be a cowboy instead. I have to say, he received many comments on how cute his costume was, so I think he made the best choice! Tyler loved going Trick-or-Treating. He told me that his pumpkin was hungry, which was why he was getting candy! Mason loved being pushed in the stroller and looking at all the costumes.

Once we got home, Tyler dumped all of his candy out to see all his goodies. Mason crawled right over to sit in the middle of it where he put all the candy in his mouth...unfortunately they were all wrapped! He did enjoy a Tootsie Roll, which was all over Papa! We have enough candy to last us a year!

Superbowl - Go Eagles!

Tyler with his trophy and MVP game ball!

Tyler got the flag!
The end of flag football means the Superbowl! Tyler's team, the Eagles, played 2 games. The first game Tyler was on fire! He pulled 9 flags and scored 1 out of the 2 touchdowns. I was such a proud Mommy! The second game he continued to pull flags...he was such a great football player!

After the game, each player received a trophy. Tyler was so proud of his new trophy! Once trophies were passed out, coach presented Tyler with the game ball saying he was our MVP! Tyler kept asking coach if he got to keep the ball! His smile hasn't faded yet. All of Tyler's hard work and practice has paid off.

Getting Ready for Halloween!

We are getting ready for Halloween in the Hemmert house! Tyler and Daddy carved our pumpkins so that we could light them on Trick-or-Treat night. Tyler enjoyed designing the pumpkins face and watching Daddy cut it out. They made one pumpkin mean and the other happy. He did help scoop the insides out, but was careful not to get his hands dirty!
After the carving was done, we were lucky that The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown was on! Tyler enjoys watching this show to help him get ready for Halloween. His favorite part is when Snoopy is acting like a fighter pilot. For the last few years, Tyler has acted this part out very dramatically. I was curious to see if Tyler would still do this. To my amusement, he did!

Mason - 9 Months Old

Mason loves to crawl under our chairs!
He also loves to crawl all over Tucker - poor Tucker!
Mason loves every minute he has with Tyler!

Sweet and innocent face

Mason is 9 months old and growing fast! He has started to crawl, and is into everything! He is starting to be very ornery too! When we tell him "No," he stops and laughs at us, then continues right back to what he was doing. It is cute now, but I am sure we will feel differently soon! If Mason is not with Tyler or Tucker, he is sitting under our chairs. We think he may be a mechanic in his future. Now that he is mobile, Tyler and Mason are starting to play together a lot more. Wrestling is one of their favorite past times. Mason also enjoys anything and everything Tyler has!

Mason now has 4 teeth. He has 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom. It is hard to get him to take his bottle or to eat baby food. He likes to be a big boy and eat 'real' food, by himself!

We are enjoying watching Mason grow more independent and develop his personality, but I do miss my little baby!

Pumpkin Patch

Tyler and Mason with the large pumpkins! Mason liked the hay tickling his legs!
My boys on the hayride

Tyler and Mason with the sea of pumpkins!

We took the boys to the pumpkin patch to get our pumpkins. We picked a beautiful October day to go! Mason got to experience his first pumpkin patch with riding on a hayride, looking at the baby animals, and seeing a see of pumpkins! Tyler was in pumpkin heaven! As always, Tyler enjoyed the hayride and hunting for our perfect pumpkin to make a jack-o-lantern with. Now Tyler can't wait to carve the pumpkins.

Mason's 1st Hair Cut

Mason and Grandma after his haircut - enjoying a sucker (or shall we say the stick!)
Driving the taxi and watching the movie

Mason was excited to get a haircut, he knew he would look handsome!

Mason had his first haircut on October 20. He was just a day shy of 10 months old. Mason watched big brother Tyler get a haircut first so that he knew what to expect! When it was Mason's turn, he sat like a big boy in the taxi. He sat still, drove the taxi, and watched a movie. We were all so proud of Mason.
After his haircut, Mason enjoyed his first sucker! He was not happy when I took it away from him, but he was getting himself and Grandma all sticky!

Tyler's 1st Michigan Football Game

Tyler & Daddy outside The Big House

Tyler & Daddy in their seats

Daddy took Tyler to his 1st Michigan football game this year too. Tyler was also excited to go watch "Go Blue" with Daddy. Of course he talked non-stop on the way there, but slept on the way home. He did inform Daddy that he will be a go blue fan, but doesn't care to go to another game because it was such a long drive!

Daddy said that Tyler did great during the first half of the game. He was watching it and talking about the plays. But by the 3rd quarter, he was starting to get antsy. Luckily for Michigan it was a blowout, so Daddy didn't care that they left early.

Tyler is one lucky boy to get to go 2 different football games in one year. He wonders what he will get to go to next year!

Tyler's 1st Ohio State Football Game!

Papa & Tyler enjoying the football game!

Papa, Grandma & Tyler outside the horseshoe

Buckeyes are #1!
Papa took Tyler to his first Ohio State football game, and Tyler had a blast! Surprisingly, he wanted to get dressed in Buckeye gear, from the buckeye necklace, jersey, to a new Brutus hat. As we were driving to the game, Tyler was excited and talked the entire way. But as soon we were close to the stadium, all Tyler saw were Buckeye flags and scarlet and gray. He kept pointing and saying "Look, Buckeye flag! Look, another Buckeye flag!" He couldn't believe his eyes. He was now in Buckeye Country!

Papa said that Tyler enjoyed watching the game and eating all the food. He even talked 'football' to Papa and taught him a few things! I think we may have a future football enthusiast on our hands!
