Tyler with Grandma & Grandpa Hemmert
We celebrated Christmas with the Hemmert's the weekend before Christmas this year. We all had a great time spending time with family and creating memories together. The cousins all enjoyed playing together, they played non-stop and got along great! They were excited to open up all their gifts, and watched patiently as everyone opened gifts. Once all the gifts were open, they loved playing with their new toys. Tyler got lots of cool stuff, but his two favorite gifts so far are his new Penguin Pillow Pet and his new train track. I see lots of hours spent playing with everything! Tyler is officially in the Christmas spirit and can't wait for Santa to come to his house!

Baking Christmas Cookies

Tyler and Grandma mixing the cookie dough
We were getting a winter storm today, so Tyler and I thought the best way to stay warm was to bake Christmas cookies. So, we headed over to Grandma Kerr's and spent the day baking and icing cookies. Tyler was a great helper, I think we may just have a future baker on our hands!
Grandma had made her and Tyler matching aprons. Tyler was not excited to wear his apron until he learned that it would keep his shirt clean! Then he only took it off when he was on break.
Tyler did an excellent job mixing the batter together, without our help. Grandma even showed him how to sift flour! Then she showed Tyler how to roll out the cookie dough to make the cut out cookies. He caught on pretty fast, so fast that he showed me how to do it!
Once the cut out cookies were baked, Tyler took his time icing the cookies. Of course, he did enjoy eating a cookie or two, he even shared them nicely with Papa!
