For the Birds

Tyler calling the birds to the feeder. Papa giving Tyler a hand with the heavy bag of seeds.
Tyler adding some seeds.
Tyler loves birds as much as Grandma does. We both love to watch and feed the birds. We only have 2 feeders right now, but they feed a number of birds. Tyler likes the cardinals the best. Grandma likes the little finches. Tyler gets mad when the BlueJays come and chase away the other birds.

Once we have the feeders filled, Tyler likes calling the birds. He will say, "Birds, food, time to eat".

We had so much snow we couldn't get to our feeders, but now that the snow is gone and spring is almost here, we will be able to keep the birds happy once again.

Soccer Lessons

Excited before practice. Learning how to run "warm-ups". (Tyler is dress in navy shirt and pants)
Getting ready to run from wall to wall.
Playing "sharks" with Coach Adam.
Grandma was a little concerned when Mommy signed Tyler up for Soccer lessons. Grandma didn't think Tyler would listen to directions or do things the coach would ask him to do. He is very used to being the boss and in control of the situations. But I was totally wrong.

Tyler did great from the moment he steps on the court. He enjoyed running around and kicking the ball plus following directions!

Coach Adam is a young guy who did great with the 3 year olds. He had the boys doing floor exercises, warm up runs, bouncing balloons off their heads and just having fun.

At the end of the lesson Tyler was wet with sweat and wanted to know if he could come back again tomorrow. I have a feeling it's going to be hard for him to wait until next Tuesday. Soccer may be his sport.

Visiting Great Grandma Freddie

Tyler showing us his airplane. Tyler showing Grandma Freddie his cars. Tyler explaining how to play cars!
This past weekend Mommy, Grandma and Tyler went to visit Great Grandma Freddie. Tyler always brings his own entertainment whenever we go visiting. He carries his backpack full of cars, trucks, tractors and airplanes!

As soon as he took off his coat, he sat down on the floor and unloaded his backpack. He then looked at Grandma Freddie and said, "Come on, play with me". Freddie immediately got up from her chair and flopped on the floor. We were afraid she may have hurt herself, but she said she was fine and she didn't know any other way of getting on floor but just flopping down. It was really very funny!

They played quite well together. Freddie did exactly as Tyler told her! He is very bossy and knows how he wants you to play and he will let you know if you are not doing it his way!

Freddie took us to lunch at one of Tyler's favorite restaurants, Bob Evans. He was excited when Freddie ordered Flippers -aka- pancakes also!

It was a very nice afternoon, and we will repeat it soon.

Diggin'

Mommy & Tyler standing in front of the "hole" The lot.

Thursday was a BIG day for the Hemmert's. The sun was out, the snow is melted, and the ground was broken for the Hemmert House! Tyler isn't sure what is going on; except there was big "hole" in the ground and we wanted him to walk in mud!

Perry & Uncle Mike

Passing the football with great Uncle Mike.Hiking the ball with Uncle Mike Uncle Mike taking him down!

Passing the basketball.
Tyler wanted to go to Aunt Mary's house to see their parrot, Perry. But he would not get close enough to Perry for a picture. Perhaps another visit he will.

But he did play outside with Uncle Mike. They had a good time passing the football and hiking the ball together. Tyler even caught a few himself. Uncle Mike was surprised to see how well Tyler could pass a football.

They also played with a basketball and kicked a soccer ball. Tyler came prepared to play ball with all his balls. So he was very happy.

A "PlayDate" with Aunt Mary

High Ho Silver, Away! Trying to get his horse to turn.
Aunt Mary, the horse, eating some hay stacks.
Tyler and Aunt Mary "hiking" the football.
Results after you "hike" the ball. Most people call it tackling, but not Tyler.

Tyler loves having playdates with his great Aunt Mary. He had planned a MovieDate with her, but once she got here, Tyler changed his mind.

Instead they played race cars, construction workers, Don't Break the Ice, Duck Duck Goose, football, and watch and played The Lone Ranger. Aunt Mary was a real trooper..... she went from one thing to the next very easily. I do believe her favorite was playing Lone Ranger. Tyler had Aunt Mary being Silver, the horse. Once he figured out how to get on her, he enjoyed falling off and getting back on. She thought it was funny that he found her bra strap to hold on to for his reins. She didn't have to worry about getting hungry for he fed her well, and kept her tied to a tree when he wasn't riding her. The best part was when Tyler wanted Grandma to ride Aunt Mary! But for some reason she said she would have to draw the line at that request. haha

Tyler ended the evening with singing to her. He was very entertaining. I am sure Aunt Mary slept well last night! But as for Tyler, he is looking forward to playing with her again soon.

Maddy's Birthday Party

Birthday Girl, Maddy with Tyler. Tyler's first slice of pizza!
Time to dance!
Air Hockey
The Good-Bye hug after the party!
Tyler had his first 'friend' birthday party over the weekend. His girlfriend from preschool, Maddy, turned 4 and we celebrated at Chuck E Cheese! Tyler had so much fun playing with all the games. He loved playing air hockey, riding on a monster truck, and collecting all the tickets to get a special something.
After playing all the games, it was time for lunch and cake. Tyler actually had his first piece of pizza! When he sat at the table, he looked at his plate that already had the pizza on it, his face was priceless! He was disappointed, but when he saw his other friends eating pizza he thought he might as well give it a try. And to his surprise, he LOVED it!
After lunch, the kids showed off their dance moves. I can assure you that you will not be seeing any of the kids on the next So You Think You Can Dance show! Tyler is getting more coordinated with his dancing. But he definitely hears his own music for his movement. The kids were so cute dancing together!
When it was time to say goodbye, Tyler and Maddy shared hugs. Tyler was so happy to help Maddy celebrate her birthday. And as Tyler says, "Where did my birthday go?" He can't wait to celebrate his either!
