Hanging Pictures

Tyler's 1st time using his hammer! He may be stretching but he had great aim.

Look at his concentration!

A job well done and a kiss for helping!
Tyler and Grandma put our pajamas on and decided to hang some pictures in my bathroom. I got my hammer and he got his!
Tonight was the first time Tyler got to hit a real nail with his hammer. Grandma started the nails and Tyler hammered them in. His little plastic hammer took a little while, but he was very patient!
Our only problem was figuring out where to place the pictures. Tyler and I agreed on all the pictures except for one. I didn't like where he wanted one set of pictures, but he was persistent where he wanted the picture that I let him win. He was one happy boy then.

Tyler worked very hard concentration on hitting the nail and not the walls. I think Uncle Scott and Alan may want to think about a new partnership.

Grandma was excited to finally get her bathroom pictures hung, but the big kiss at the end was the best part. Thanks Tyler for your hard work helping me.

Play Dough with Papa

Tyler was very proud of Papa. Tyler teaching Papa how to use the hamburger press.

The old saying of "you're never to old to learn" is really true. Unbelievable, but Papa has never played with Play Dough. So who could be a better teacher than Tyler. He was very patient with him. When Papa did something good, Tyler was quick to praise him. He would say, "Good job Papa!" or perhaps "woo hoo Papa you did it!". Obviously he hears those sayings from us.

Tyler had Papa using all different colors. After all he knows lettuce is green and tomatoes are red! They were making hamburgers! I think they both had a fun time.

Tractor and Sledding Fun

Grandpa pulling Daddy and Tyler with the tractor
Tyler finally brave enough to sit on the tractor with Grandpa
Over Valentine's weekend, we visited Grandpa & Grandma Hemmert. Tyler had a great visit with them! His highlight with them was sitting on the tractor with Grandpa and getting pulled on the sled by the tractor. We have been trying all year to get Tyler to sit on the tractor, but he has been too scared. As Grandpa was connecting the sled to the tractor, Tyler insisted on sitting on it. Tyler was so excited to be sitting on the tractor with Grandpa. Maybe this summer Grandpa will have an extra hand on the farm!
Tyler also enjoyed getting pulled on the sled. Daddy went along for the ride too! Tyler thought it was fun, until their sled tipped over. Luckily they had a soft landing in the snow, but unfortunately, Tyler was scared the tractor was going to get him. I can say that Grandma and I have never seen Tyler run so fast!

Basketball Game

Tyler being shy with Jessie. Saying "Cheese" as normal.
Entertaining himself at the basketball game.
Junk food kept him busy.
This past fall Tyler enjoyed watching Jessie's high school football games and her cheer, so we thought he might like basketball as well. But he wasn't quite as interested in it. We had to keep buying junk food to keep him busy. He enjoyed M & M's,licorice, pop corn, and a sucker ring. When he wasn't eating, he found it fun to lay on the floor in the bleachers! He did say he liked to see Jessie "jump and touch her toes".

Tyler talks a lot about Jessie, but when he is around her he becomes very shy. He wore his Canal Winchester high school sweatshirt for her, which he insist says "Jessie". Perhaps one day he will get over being shy around her.

First Time Sledding

Tyler & Daddy getting ready to push Grandma & Papa
Whee!!

This past weekend, we got around 10 inches of snow. Tyler was so excited that it was snowing so that he could use his new sleds! We went to a hill in Grandma & Papa's neighborhood to test them out. Tyler was hesitant at first to go down the hill, but he loved giving everyone a push. Once he was brave enough to go on the sled, he had a blast! He wanted to go again and again.
After sledding, Tyler wanted to make snowballs. It brought back our childhood memories having a snowball fight! Tyler did not like it when Mommy got hit with the snowballs, what a great protector I have!
Tyler didn't want to leave the hill, so we talked him into going home to build a snowman. We built a snowman and made snow angels. After all the fun in the snow, we all came in and enjoyed a nice cup of hot cocoa with marshmallows.

Center of Science & Industry

In front of COSI excited to go meet Aunt Murray inside! Had a fun time putting plastic rods in the holes and watching them light up!

Kidspace playing in the water as a Fireman!

Playing a piano that makes animal noises.

Thinks the floating balls were a hoot!
For Christmas Aunt Murray -aka- Mary, gave Tyler and Grandma a membership to COSI. Today we finally went for the first time. It was quite an exciting experience. Tyler loved it! I can not think of a time I have taken him out, that he was as good and as interested in everything we saw as he was today! We looked at many exhibits and he enjoyed them all.

He experienced magnets, gadgets, electricity, weather, Streets of Yesteryear, Grossology, and Kidspace, just to name a few. He enjoyed driving emergency vehicles and playing in the water as a Fireman in Kidspace. He liked playing a piano that made animal noises! Newton's Law was of interest to him, or perhaps it was the balls floating in air that he enjoyed! I believe he pushed, pulled, twisted, popped, whirled, flipped, rolled, and shook everything he was able.

This is definitely a gift we will enjoy using the whole year! Thank you Aunt Murray! We both liked the guided tour Aunt Murray provided for us. It was a full day of adventure. Tyler was so exhausted that he fell asleep before we left the parking lot!
