Gymboree Halloween Party

Pumpkins Falling off a log

This afternoon Tyler attended his 1st Halloween Party at Gymboree. He had a good time playing with his friends. He wasn't quite sure what to make of all the costumes. As for Tyler, MeMa made him a pair of "scrubs" so he could go as "Dr. Tyler". We let Tyler pick out the material... which had fire frucks on it.

Playing with Uncle Zach

If there is one thing Tyler enjoys, it is Uncle Zach visiting. Uncle Zach came to Jacksonville to attend the Cleveland Brown -v- Jacksonville Jaguar football game on Sunday with Daddy, his Ohio friends, and Papa. But he always makes sure he has time to play with Tyler. Tyler will reach for Zach and say, "hand" and off they go where ever Tyler has in mind.
They started off golfing in the front yard, then went to kickball, looking at birds in a tree, and of course, mowing the grass with bubbles. While playing kickball, the ball went under the "fruck" and got stuck. They took the golf clubs to get the ball out. That was so much fun, Tyler kept trying to get it stuck over and over again.
While running around the yard, Tyler laughed and laughed and Uncle Zach puffed and puffed. He isn't as young as he used to be, so he needs to get back in shape to keep up with Tyler.
Before they both went down for their naps, Tyler read a story to Uncle Zach. Zach ask what he was reading to him and Tyler responded, "a book"! He thinks Uncle Zach is so silly.

Helping Hands

Papa Kerr has a Shrine Parade today in St. Augustine, Florida. He had to get the little Hum Vee car loaded on the trailer and do a few minor repairs to the car. Of course, that meant Tyler needed to "help". If there is one thing Tyler enjoys, it is "helping". Give him a screwdriver, and he can find a spot to stick it in. Papa loves anyone to help him. This is the first time Tyler has gotten close to the the little car. He has always been afraid of it. Next thing you know he will want to drive it.

Mmm Mmm Good!

You are never to young to lick the brownie bowl and spoon! Tyler loves to help me in the kitchen, and this weekend we made brownies together. He helped me mix the brownies and pour them into the pan. He started to lick his lips as the batter was pouring into the pan. I knew then that this meant trouble! He stuck his finger into the batter as it was dripping out of the bowl. He then licked his finger and said "Mmm Good". Luckily I had poured all the batter into the pan by now. So, I let him clean the bowl and spoon for me. By the time he was finished, he had chocolate all over him and his clothes! I guess this is the part of his childhood he will enjoy and remember! I know that I loved helping my mom clean the bowls as she was baking!

Finding Grandma's Pumpkin

Tyler and Grandma Cleaning the 'Yucky' Pumpkin

Video of Tyler Jumping

Tyler took Grandma Kerr with him to a different pumpkin patch to find her a pumpkin. He loved walking through the rows of pumpkins until he noticed the dirt on them. Since the pumpkins were "yucky", he decided to try jumping on the Moon Walk. This was the first time he has jumped on one, and considering he doesn't jump well, he did great! When someone joined him, he found it more fun to roll all over the moon walk. If he knocked them down, it was a bonus! After he finished jumping, he did find a clean pumpkin that Grandma was able to bring home.

Picking Pumpkins

Tyler and Daddy at the Pumpkin Patch Entrance

Tyler helping Daddy pull the wagon

Tyler found the 'Just Right' Pumpkin!

This weekend Brent and I took Tyler to the pumpkin patch to pick out his pumpkin. He loved touching all the "pumkins"! He would walk around and try to pick them all up, no matter what size. We learned that he is very strong for his age! Tyler would grunt as he tried to pick up the large pumpkins. He did enjoy the smaller ones the best, because they were easier for him to throw into the wagon. Tyler did help daddy pull the wagon with our pumpkins in it. When he got tired, he would sit in the wagon and go along with the ride! Tyler now can't wait until next weekend when we decorate his pumpkin!

Playing on the Swingset with Uncle Zach

When we got back from Ohio, Uncle Zach was in Jacksonville to celebrate his birthday with us. Tyler had a great visit with Uncle Zach. As you saw in the previous post, Tyler had a great time helping Uncle Zach open his presents. They also enjoyed time swinging and playing in the fort together. Uncle Zach pushed Tyler on the "Wee" higher than anyone else had. Tyler would have enjoyed going up even higher! In less than 3 weeks, Uncle Zach is coming back down. Tyler is going to practice so he can push Uncle Zach in the "wee"!

Family Trip to Ohio

This past week, we flew to Ohio for a sad day, Brent's grandfather passed away. Although everyone was sad, we were able to create a few of many memories for Tyler on the farm! Both MeMa and Papa Hemmert took turns giving Tyler horse rides on their back. Tyler loved it! Then Papa took Tyler to look at the moo cows. He also loved the cows. Once we would leave them, he would want to go back to see the "Moos". Tyler also took cousin Logan on a bike ride, they were both so excited!

But, his absolute favorite was taking a ride on the 4-wheeler. He called it a tractor. Tyler loved riding it, but it was so cold we wouldn't let him stay on it too long. One time, all 4 cousins got to ride at once and they all loved it! Tyler was afraid of Papa's big farm tractor though; he would scream whenever we took him close to it. Maybe when we go back at Christmas he will want to take a ride on the big tractor.

On our next visit, we will be sure to get pictures of Tyler with MeMa Hemmert!

Happy Birthday Uncle Zach

Uncle Zach came down from Atlanta this weekend to let us help him celebrate his birthday. Tyler was excited when he saw the presents come out, his little wings (arms) started flapping like a bird. Of course, he had to help open them all. At first he would hand a gift to Uncle Zach and say "there's one" and would slowly and politely help him open it. Then he realized he could just open the gifts himself and hand it over to Uncle Zach. Either way, they both were happy.
After the gift opening and Tyler helped clean up all the paper, we had Zach's traditional birthday Strawberry Pie plus an ice cream cake shaped as a football. Tyler's little wings once again started flapping because he knew it was time to blow out the candles, which he does enjoy! Happy Birthday Uncle Zach!! So glad we could all be together for your Special Day!
