Shower

This morning when Papa was taking his shower, Tyler came to me pulling at his clothes saying, "shirt off". I ask why and he replied, "Shower Papa". So I undressed him and off he went. He was so excited to be in the shower. He loves having the water run off his head. When Papa was ready for him to get out, Tyler wasn't quite as ready. But he does smell clean now.

Hair Cut Again

As Tyler's MeMa, I feel I get to do alot of fun and entertaining things with him and take him on alot of fun outings. I so much enjoy spending my time with the little guy. I think we are forming a close relationship; but his mommy and daddy are making me do something that is giving me a bad spot in Tyler's mind. They make me cut his hair. As you have seen in other blog entries, Tyler HATES his hair cut. As time goes by, he is getting worse with the haircuts. This evening, they made me cut it again. Daddy and Mommy both held him down while Tyler screamed, yelled, and kicked so hard that he threw up. Not to worry, for Tucker was there on the clean up crew!
If anyone has any thoughts on how to calm him down during his haircut, I am open for your suggestions. We wait until he starts looking like a shaggy dog before we do cut it. Like always, after I am finished cutting and the clippers are turned OFF, Tyler is happy once again. We didn't take any pictures of this not so fun activity for Tyler.

Play Date with J.T.

Today MeMa planned a fun Play Date with his friend, J.T. The boys had alot of fun together running, screaming and laughing. They had a good time driving the boat and walking up and down the train tracks. J.T. took Tyler for a pretend ride on a Hot Dog truck.

We all went for a ride on the indoor train called, "Sunshine Express". Tyler had another fun time with J.T.

Baking Cookies

Tyler and Mommy baked chocolate chip cookies together during the storm too. Tyler helped mix the cookies and put them on the baking tray for me. He was a good helper! As you can see in the picture, Tucker was there every step of the way, just in case Tyler was messy!
I was surprised that Tyler didn't try to eat the cookie dough until the end. I tried to feed it to him, but he wouldn't try it. In the last batch, he finally tasted it and loved it! He would lick his spoon and say, "Mmm, Good!" He loves to be a helper!

Tropical Storm Faye

We had a tropical storm last week, so Brent and I were home for a long weekend! Our offices closed Wednesday afternoon and we didn't return to work until Monday. It was great to spend the time off with Tyler.
Although we couldn't go outside to play, we found ways to occupy ourselves indoors. Tyler enjoyed playing with mommy's shoes. My tennis shoes sure did help Tyler ride his bike! He also enjoyed the extra bonding time with Tucker. These two boys are stuck like glue to each other. While daddy cleaned the patio in the rain, mommy and Tyler vegged out on the coach watching Curious George and Cars!

Fun with Family and Friends

Tyler was able to spend time with mommy's best friends from high school and their kids. I can honestly say he wasn't his cheerful self, but a good time he did have. Taylor is the same age as Tyler, and after awhile they enjoyed playing with each other. It was monkey-see-monkey-do. They colored, tried to play hill-billy golf, and had a blast at the water park together! He did not want much to do with the babies, he was jealous when mommy would hold them. I was pleasantly surprised when he laid down with them for a picture. Tyler does have to be different though, which is why he is laying upside down!
Tyler has had fun with his cousin Logan. The ride in the car to Aunt Lisa's house was so much fun. As you can see in the picture, the boys are cracking each other up. They laughs continued at the house as the boys chased each other around with tractors, frucks, and lawn mowers!

A Harley Great Grandma

In 2 weeks Grandma Freddie will turn 88 years old. But age doesn't stop her from doing anything she really wants to do! She has always wanted a ride on a Harley Davidson, so Papa made that dream come true. She strapped on a helmet, put her arms around Papa and off they went. She said she may be old in age, but is very young in her heart. And what a very true statement that is! She said she now wants to be called, "Harley Grandma Freddie". We are so lucky to have Freddie in our family, for she is one special lady.

Museum Fun

While Great Aunt Mary and Great Grandma Freddie were visiting, we took them to the Children's Museum. Grandma Freddie enjoyed watching Tyler run from one thing to another and just having a ball. She thought he was so cute when he was playing inside the State Trooper car and was making a siren noise.
As for Aunt Mary, she wanted to play inside the Ball Pit with Tyler. But by the time she got in, he had gotten out. He lost his shoe inside the pit, so she had fun hunting for the shoe by herself. We all had fun that day.

Ohio Family Day at the Beach

Today was a hot day, so we took our Ohio family to the beach. Aunt Mary and Great Grandma Freddie had a good time playing with Tyler. Tyler liked when Aunt Mary chased him around on the beach. But a day of family fun turned almost into a tragedy. But we have 2 HERO's in our family that saved the day for us. Aunt Mary, Uncle Zach, Mommy and MeMa were out in the ocean hopping waves and having fun when the current/undertow took us out to far and had problems getting back to shore. Uncle Zach helped Mommy and MeMa, so he is our HERO. But Aunt Mary was the one in the real danger. She was taken pretty far out and out of our reach. She was yelling HELP but Uncle Zach had his hands full with Mommy and MeMa. We finally yelled loud enough when Daddy (Brent) heard us and dove into the water to rescue Aunt Mary. Just a minute or two before Daddy reached her a surfer heard her yelling and let her hang onto his surf board. The surfer and Daddy were paddling her toward shore when a beach lifeguard reached them. After they arrived on shore, the lifeguards checked her out and released her. We were all glad to be home where we were safe. Grandma Freddie and Papa were taking good care of Tyler. I think it will be a long time before any of us want to go in the ocean past our knees again.

Tyler and Mommy's Visit to Ohio

Tyler and I went to Ohio this past weekend. He was able to spend time with family and friends that he doesn't get to see very often. Even though the weather was chilly, Tyler, Adam, and Erik enjoyed playing in the fountains. As you can see in the picture, Tyler loved the water so much, he decided to sit down on top of one of the fountains!
Grandpa Hemmert and Uncle Todd fixed Tyler corn on the cob. It was so good, he couldn't stop smiling as he was eating! He would say "Mmm, good"!
We took many other pictures of our trip, but I have seemed to misplace my camera. As soon as I find it, or other pictures are sent to me, I will post those too.

Children's Hands on Museum

MeMa planned a Play Date for Tyler with his friend, J.T., from Gymboree, on Friday. We went to the Children's Hands On Museum. Tyler was very excited to find all the areas to explore. I do believe he loved the train tracks the most. But he enjoyed rolling around in the ball pit with J.T.
and climbing in and out of a fire truck, shopping in a grocery store and learning to play checkers by Tyler's rules. Tyler had such a good time, we became members of the museum so we can go as much as Tyler likes. Tyler also told me he enjoys the fun he has with J.T. that he hopes we have more Play Dates together.

Breakfast with Curious George

If we would allow, Tyler would watch Curious George all day long. So, we thought Tyler would enjoy having breakfast with Curious George. Boy were we wrong! He enjoyed eating breakfast, until Curious George arrived. He screamed whenever Curious got close to him. Once Curious walked away, Tyler would say "Bye-Bye Curious".
We couldn't leave with a bad experience, so we tried go-carts. Tyler loved it so much, he rode with Daddy and Papa. When it was time to get off the go-cart, Tyler screamed, but this time because he wanted to ride again. Tyler was so excited to ride on the race track in a "car"!

Computer Time

You may be looking at our next Bill Gates! Tyler loves to be on the computer and he never ceases to amaze me by the new screens he finds. He can spend hours IMing anyone who will respond back. So be on the lookout for Tyler's messages, but good luck reading them. Remember, we type like we talk and since we can't understand Tyler's talking...

Make-up Fun

Tyler is at that stage where 'monkey see, monkey do'. He watches Mommy and MeMa put on make-up everyday, so he thought he should give it a try. As you can see, he didn't quite make the mascara on his eyelashes, but he was close!
