Tyler's 2nd Birthday Party

Tyler has a fascination with cars, so what better party theme to have for his 2nd birthday party. (Tyler asks to watch the movie Cars at least once a day.) As we decorated for the party, Tyler and Tucker played with the balloons. Unfortunately, Tucker popped a few, so Aunt Jill and mommy had to go buy more!
Tyler loved playing with his friends, especially on his new playset. He was having such a good time playing, that he didn't even want to eat the yummy food that mommy and daddy made for him. Until it was time for cake! When he saw that Lightning McQueen was on it, he was thrilled. He wanted to play with "Queen". After we sang 'Happy Birthday' he even blew out the candle, which surprised us all!
Tyler was not into unwrapping his presents after he opened up the first gift. The first item he opened was a car carrying case with lots of matchbox cars in it. He took his cars to the table to line them up, which is what he does for hours. So, Tyler's friends had to help me unwrap his gifts. He received a lot of nice gifts. But the best gift of all was having everyone together. He appreciated Grandma Hemmert, Aunt Jill, Aunt Lisa, and Logan traveling from Ohio. And Uncle Zach driving down from Atlanta to help us celebrate Tyler's special day!

Hemmert's Visit

This past weekend, Brent's mom, sisters, and nephew came to visit us and to help celebrate Tyler's 2nd birthday. Tyler had a blast the entire weekend! Tyler and his cousin, Logan, were best friends; sharing everything from toys to pacifiers. They were inseparable, which is great to see. Hopefully they will continue to have this great relationship.
We did celebrate Tyler's 2nd birthday with a nice cookout, but we were also able to have fun in the sun. Sunday afternoon, we headed out to the beach to watch a parade. The boys loved watching the parade. They particularly liked the boats and fire trucks. Guess you can say they are true boys! After the parade, we went to the beach. This was the first time cousin Logan has been to the beach. At first, he was hesitant to go into the ocean. But after watching the fun Tyler was having in the waves, he too learned how much fun it truly is. It was almost impossible to get these two out of the ocean. Both Tyler and Logan had so much fun playing the sun, they didn't make it home awake. They crashed! Can't you hear them snoring?!
We look forward to our next set of visitors!

Puppy Name Change

This may sound crazy ...... or to some of us, it may just sound like a Senior Moment! I had named my little puppy Zoie because I love the name. But unfortunately I keep calling her Chloe! I must love that name more. LOL She is only 6 weeks old (5.11 lb.), so she doesn't answer to anything I call her yet. And Tyler is still calling her "Puppy", so this won't effect him either.

But as of today, I have decided to officially change her name to Chloe Madeline Kerr. Thank goodness I have not yet mailed in papers to register her name since she is a purebred.

New Family Addition

Today Grandma got an early birthday present from Zach, Angie, Brent and Tyler. She is a 6 week old Golden Retriever. Her name is Zoie Madeline Kerr. She is absolutely adorable and full of chewing and love! Tyler was as excited to see and meet her as I was. He just couldn't hug and kiss her enough. On the car ride home, which was 1 1/2 hours long, Tyler wanted to hold her the whole way. So needless to say they slept together in the car.
It will be a lot of work raising Zoie to be a proper young lady with good manners, but with the help of my little man, Tyler, it's going to be a fun journey.

New Swing Set

WOW! What a day. Tyler was a busy boy today helping the guy install his new swing set. He had alot of words to say about how the job was going. He definitely uses his hands alot to express himself.

And when the job was finished Tyler was so excited! He wore himself out going up the ladder and down the slide. Tucker was following him for a long time until he decided enough is enough. Tucker finally found a nice shady spot to sit under the slide and just watch Tyler run around and have fun.

Tyler says "Thank You Daddy" for picking out such a fun Birthday Gift for him!

Papa's 60th Birthday

Today is April 17, 2008 and Papa turned 60 years old. Tyler spent the whole day and evening with Papa to help him celebrate. We ate dinner then Tyler wanted Papa to feed him the Birthday Dessert that Grandma made. Tyler opened his mouth so wide and said "yum" after each bite. He definitely has Papa's sweet tooth. When it was time to open presents, Tyler had to line up a few cars before he could help Papa open his gifts. Both Tyler and Papa had their mouths open wide saying "WOW" when they opened Uncle Zach's OSU diploma frame. I think Papa had a wonderful 60th birthday!

Visitors

Tyler was very lucky this past week with visitors. He had his Great Uncle Mike, Great Aunt Sue, his second cousins Sarah and Jessie visit. He then had Uncle Zach visit and his mommy and daddy's friends from Ohio, Collin and Jenn. How lucky!
Tyler had a lot of fun with visitor. With Uncle Zach, he loved playing ball with and building blocks. With Jenn, he had fun at the beach, shopping, and at the St. Augustine light house. Tyler and Collin enjoyed playing cars together. I am sure that everyone is excited to be able to watch what they want to on the television, instead of Tyler's movie of choice...Cars!
One evening, we enjoyed a game of darts. When it was MeMaw's turn, she tried to trick us all. At the beginning, it was a struggle for her to hit the board. Then, all of a sudden, she made a bulls eye! She was playing us all!
We can't wait to see everyone again!

Our Other Easter

As MeMaw said earlier, Tyler enjoyed two Easters. He had a total of three Easter baskets and two egg hunts. What a life! During the egg hunts, Tyler refused to use a basket to hold the eggs. At our house, he used his Home Depot digger. He pushed it around the yard as he and Tucker hunted for eggs. Yes, Tucker helped too. As you can see in the picture, Tucker is helping Tyler count the eggs. Tyler is able to count to four, with assistance. Many times the numbers do not go in the correct order, but we are working on that! Tyler also did not like to put the eggs in the digger the old fashion way, with his hands. He had to use a shovel! We can't wait to see what new strategies he uses next year!
