Coo-Kie

Tyler loves to eat cookies, especially Oreo's. I believe he should be the new spokesman for Oreo cookies. After we eat dinner, Tyler says "Coo-Kie" in a high-pitched voice until we give him an Oreo. He then pulls the cookie apart and eats the filling. I am not sure how he learned to do this, Brent nor I showed him this technique. After he has eaten the filling, he will either eat the rest of the cookie or feed it to Tucker. (Which is why they are best friends!)
As you can see, he has Oreo cookie all over his face and hands. In the pictures he was showing off. The top picture shows him playing "See Me". Tyler's Great Uncle Mike taught his mommy and Uncle Zach this game! In the bottom picture, Tyler shoved the cookie in his mouth when he saw me ready to take the picture. What a ham!

Visit from Uncle Zach

Uncle Zach came to visit us this past weekend. We were able to celebrate his birthday early, and had a great time! Unfortunately, Tyler showed Uncle Zach his true colors; since his 2 year molars are breaking through. Even through the crankiness, Uncle Zach and Tyler had a good time together. Tyler enjoyed being tossed around by Uncle Zach, taking off and putting on Zach's hat, and playing "Vroom-Vroom" with the motorcycle that Uncle Zach brought him. Tyler loves to play with cars and motorcycles! Tyler can't wait for Uncle Zach to come back so he can hang like a monkey again!

Washing the Voom Voom

What to do on a sunny Saturday but help your Grandpa wash the Voom Voom (-AKA- Harley Davidson). Tyler was a big help. Once Grandpa found the right size sponge Tyler was in business. Of course, like most kids, once he got to help a little, that was all he wanted to do. He enjoyed playing in the white stones in the landscaping while Grandpa did most of the work. The stones were fun to put into the Harley's clean saddlebags and into the bucket of soapy water. It made Grandpa's clean up a little longer, but I think they enjoyed the bonding experience together.

Tyler & Tucker

Tyler absolutely loves Tucker. We are very fortunate that Tucker loves Tyler too. Where you find one, you will normally find the other, even in the dog cage! I think Tucker enjoys all the attention that Tyler gives to him. (Either that or he tolerates him since Tyler feeds him food!) Tyler loves to roll all over him, pull his tail, and open his mouth to play with his teeth. It is nice to see how calm Tucker is with Tyler, especially since Tucker is normally very hyper. When Tyler walks close to Tucker, he immediately stops jumping and kisses Tyler. Tyler squeals with delight. Brent and I are pleased that we have two boys that enjoy playing with each other!

Going to School

You are never to young to go to school. At the age of 16 months, I have enrolled Tyler in Gymboree classes. He goes once a week. He seems to love. He enjoys being with , playing with, and watching the other children. Of course, Tyler does not do what the others do; he does what Tyler wants to do. The others are climbing up ladders, and Tyler is playing with balls. The others are going up and down slides, and Tyler is playing with balls. The others are walking on balance beams and jumping on trampolines, and Tyler is playing with balls. See the trend? Tyler loves to play with balls, and of course, do what he wants when he wants.

At the end of the class they blow bubbles and he enjoys reaching and trying to catch them with the other children. They sing songs and he dances to the music. The teacher said he is doing very well. We do need to work on "sharing", "not pushing", and "no screaming". I know Tyler is looking forward to the next time he goes to Gymboree.

Carolyn's Visit

My girlfriend from Columbus came to Jacksonville to visit. Carolyn was here for a week, so she got to know Tyler quite well. What fun we had. Tyler loved her. She said he could call her MeMa like her 5 grandchildren do. She spoiled him like she does her own. He loves playing with the fire truck and musical bouquet of flowers she brought him. They took turns smelling the plastic flowers and dancing to the music. He took her balls to throw and books for her to read to him. He enjoyed her animal noises, especially her pig sound! He laughed at her every time she made the silly noise. She sang one of his favorite songs to him and did arm movement to the song which he enjoyed (Wheels on the Bus). When she returns in a few months, I know he will remember her and the fun they shared together.

Visit from Aunt Jill & Uncle Gregg

Aunt Jill & Uncle Gregg came to Florida for a visit. Tyler had a great time! We were able to spend quality time together, which everyone loved. Brent, Gregg, Jill, & Tyler spent Friday at the beach. Tyler had a wonderful time. Aunt Jill and Tyler spent the day digging in the sand while Uncle Gregg and daddy played in the water. (Mommy was working hard while they played!) In the evenings, Tyler was sure to have Aunt Jill read him plenty of books. He did not listen long, but he loved to give her new books and sit on her lap. It took Tyler no time at all to warm-up to Aunt Jill. Tyler can't wait until their next visit, so he can throw the football with Uncle Gregg!
