Splish! Splash!

Today Mommy and Grandma took Tyler to the community pool for the first time. He was all decked out in his matching swim trunks, t-shirt, hat and sandals. He looked mighty handsome. Tyler loved the water from the moment we placed his feet in it. He just splashed and giggled. He even put his head into the water and starting blowing bubbles and thought that was fun. He enjoyed watching the other kids as they played in the water. Tyler would just laugh and laugh and wanted to play along with them. Tyler thought it would be really neat if Grandpa would get a house with a swimming pool so he could swim all the time!

Happy Birthday Tyler!

Tyler celebrated his 1st birthday for the second time with the theme of Baby Einstein. Boy how fun it is being "one"! How many parties will he have when he turns two? He celebrated with the Kerr's and his friends. We had a cookout with some of his favorite foods. He received many great gifts like a work bench, wagon, trucks and cars. And of course some clothes. A boy has to look like a stud!

Tyler did great with the cake. He was hesitant at first to touch the sticky icing, but then learned how sweet it tasted! Both hands clenched with excitement and then reached down for the cake. It went all over his face and up his nose! He was very upset when we took it away. He had to have a second changing of his shirt, then he was off playing with friends.

Dylan and Tyler enjoyed playing with Tucker's dog bowls. I am not sure why the bowls are better than toys!
Everyone had a great time and Tyler was glad everyone could come to his party and help him celebrate.

Visit From The Hemmert's

Grandma, Grandpa Hemmert, and Aunt Jill came down to North Carolina to celebrate Tyler's 1st birthday. Tyler enjoyed his weekend visit with lots of fun activities. Tyler showed everyone how much fun you can have at the science museum. He loved watching Aunt Jill and Grandma make bubbles and having Grandpa show him the butterflies. We also spent an afternoon at the park. Aunt Jill and Grandma pushed Tyler as he squealed with delight; while Grandpa played with his grandpuppy, Tucker.
We wrapped up the visit with Tyler's 1st birthday celebration. Tyler received many wonderful gifts, but his favorite gifts were the curling ribbon bows. Who knew that the best gift would be so cheap! We sang "Happy Birthday" while Tyler was trying to grab the candle. He later enjoyed eating his cake with it smeared over his face! Tyler can't wait for his next visit from the Hemmert's!

Haircut

Tyler will be one year old on Sunday. He is growing up fast, and his hair grows even faster. Grandma Kerr usually cuts his hair every few weeks, but with the "Special Day" approaching, we took him to "Snip It", which is for children. Tyler could sit and watch cartoons or the bubbles being blown; but instead, Tyler cried and tried to bury his head. The lady was so sweet to him, but he wanted nothing to do with her or her clippers. She did try to bribe him with Animal Cookies. He took the cookies but wouldn't eat them. Since Grandma doesn't like to see the little guy cry or be upset, I will use my clippers for now on.
